# Canva

> Let Marketing find and export your Canva designs for thumbnails and posts, and start new ones. A new design waits for your Approve.

Canva is where many creators make thumbnails, logos, carousels, and brand graphics. Once you connect it, Marketing can find your designs, export one as an image or a video for a post, and start a new design at the right size for you to finish.

## Which assistants use it

- [Marketing](/docs/personas/marketing)

## What assistants can do

| Ability | How it runs |
| --- | --- |
| List and search your designs | Reads on its own |
| Export a design to PNG, JPG, PDF, or MP4 | Reads on its own |
| Start a new design at the size you need (YouTube thumbnail, Short, Reel, feed) | Waits for your Approve |
| Delete a design | Never offered |

## Setup

1. In the Canva Developer Portal, create an integration with the `design:meta:read`, `design:content:read`, and `design:content:write` scopes, and add your redirect address.
2. Sign in to the integration once to get a refresh token.
3. Open [Integrations](https://stellarfirm.ai/app/integrations) and pick **Canva**.
4. Paste the client ID, the client secret, and the refresh token, switch on the live option, and press **Connect**.

## Permissions

- **Read** your designs, so Marketing can find them.
- **Read design content**, so Marketing can export a design.
- **Write design content**, so Marketing can start a new design after you approve.

## Good to know

- Canva cannot design from a prompt through this connection. A new design opens blank at the right size, with the brief in its title, and you finish it in Canva.
- Canva deletes a blank design nobody edits within seven days.
- Export links work for one day. Publish or save the file soon after.
- Canva gives out a new refresh token every time it is used, and StellarFirm keeps the newest one. If Canva stops accepting it, sign in to the integration again and paste the new token.

## Prompts to try

```prompt title="Export a thumbnail"
Marketing, find my latest thumbnail designs in Canva and export the best one as a PNG for the next video.
```

```prompt title="Start a design"
Marketing, start a vertical Canva design for a Reel cover titled [title]. Wait for my Approve.
```
