# Firecrawl

> Let Marketing, Sales, and the Product owner search the web and read pages, PDFs, and whole sites through Firecrawl. Read only.

Firecrawl searches the web and turns pages, PDFs, and whole sites into clean text. Once you connect it, your assistants can read competitors' pages, news, and documents and cite each source, instead of working from memory.

## Which assistants use it

- [Marketing](/docs/personas/marketing)
- [Sales](/docs/personas/sales)
- [Product owner](/docs/personas/product-owner)

## What assistants can do

Firecrawl connects through the tool's own hosted connector, and it is read only.

| Ability | How it runs |
| --- | --- |
| Search the web and read pages | Reads on its own |
| Map a site and read PDFs and documents | Reads on its own |
| Start a crawl, an agent, or a monitor, or click through a site | Never run from chat |

## Setup

1. Sign in at firecrawl.dev and open the keys page in the dashboard.
2. Copy a key. It starts with `fc-`.
3. Open [Integrations](https://stellarfirm.ai/app/integrations) in StellarFirm and pick Firecrawl.
4. Paste the key, switch on the live option, and press Connect.

## Permissions

- Nothing here waits for an Approve because nothing here changes data.
- Each search or page uses your Firecrawl plan. The free plan works for trying it.
- Firecrawl answers a key it does not accept with its small free tool set instead of an error. If your assistants can search but cannot map a site, check the key.
- Revoke the key in Firecrawl whenever you want to cut access.

## Good to know

- Every fact from the web comes with the address of the page it came from.

## Prompts to try

```prompt title="Competitor pages"
Marketing, read our three closest competitors' pricing and features pages and give me a comparison table with the address of each source.
```

```prompt title="Account research"
Sales, read the website and latest news of [company] and give me three talking points for my call, with sources.
```
