# Tavily

> Let Marketing, Sales, and the Product owner search the web, read pages, and map a site through Tavily. Read only.

Tavily is a search engine for assistants. Once you connect it, your assistants can search the web, read pages, map or crawl a site, and write a short research report that cites every page it used.

## What assistants can do

Tavily connects through the tool's own hosted connector, and it is read only.

## Setup

1. Sign in at app.tavily.com.
2. Create a key on the dashboard. It starts with `tvly-`.
3. Open [Integrations](https://stellarfirm.ai/app/integrations) in StellarFirm and pick Tavily.
4. Paste the key, switch on the live option, and press Connect.

## Permissions

- Nothing here waits for an Approve because nothing here changes data.
- Each call uses your Tavily plan. Crawling a site and research reports use more of it than a search, so ask for a focused task.
- Revoke the key in Tavily whenever you want to cut access.

## Good to know

- Every fact from the web comes with the address of the page it came from.
